We live on a fragile planet with limited resources. The growing threat form Climate Change means all businesses must reassess their environmental impact and carbon footprint.
The White Shirt Haberdasher takes its environmental and social responsibilities seriously.
As an honest, simple and responsible business we will endeavour to be sustainable.
Environmentally Sustainable
The natural environment becomes unbalanced and unsustainable when it becomes polluted or stripped of its natural resources. For this reason we try to source sustainable products and limit our waste where possible.
In our offices we try to minimise our use of paper and other consumables, reduce and recycle our waste, and control our energy consumption.
Our shirts are made from only the finest quality cotton, one of the most natural renewable materials available; much more ecologically sound than using man-made fibres.
All our shirts are dispatched in recycled and recyclable or biodegradable packaging, so there is no need for it to end up polluting the environment.
Socially Sustainable
Sustainability is about more than just the natural environment. Social sustainability is about protecting communities and their traditions. For this reason we support the historic British textile industry and craftsmen skilled in the traditional techniques to make our shirts.
We do not work with suppliers that exploit labour, oppress the human spirit or take away the rights of the individual. We believe success can be achieved without hurting another human being.
Financially Sustainable
It is the duty of all businesses to be financially sustainable and to make profits. We will invest our profits responsibly and not in any projects that are involved in violation of human rights, ecological biodiversity or animal welfare.
Our policies are reviewed regularly and we will take all reasonable actions required to improve compliance with them.
